MR11 characterizes a special lamp format to ANSI. 'MR' stands for 'multifaceted reflector'
(= multi-faceted reflector), which now is no longer required to LED spotlights and was
replaced by optics for a significantly better distribution of light.
The two pins have a distance of 4.0 mm, thus it can be characterized. The pin diameter is between 0.95 mm
and 1.05 mm. The connection in the socket is done by inserting and spring force.
LED MR11 is a low-voltage version (12V) and includes an integrated LED driver and additionally needs a
LED transformer for converting 230V main voltage to 12V low voltage (AC or DC).
Because of its small size, it was a big challenge for LED manufacturers to combine GU4 with MR11. LEDON
provides now spots like this one with a performance of 4W.
