PI-LED Technology: Daylight Quality Indoors

KITEO's patented PI-LED technology is based on three individually controlled channels that optimally coordinate color temperature and intensity. The result is spectrally broad, natural sunlight-like lighting with automatic control along the Planckian locus. With a CRI > 90 and a color temperature range from 1800 K (dawn) to 16000 K (sky blue), artificial light is created that feels like natural daylight.

Biologically Effective Lighting for the Circadian Rhythm

The melanopic efficacy factor alpha(smel) describes the biological effectiveness of light on the human rhythm. K-Horizon offers variable values from 0.255 (1800 K, in the evening to promote melatonin) to 1.311 (16000 K, during the day for melatonin suppression). This flexibility enables lighting plans in accordance with DIN SPEC 5031-100 that are optimally effective not only visually but also biologically.

Intelligent Control and Integration

The K-Horizon can be ordered with either ZigBee 3.0 or DALI 2 (with DT8 profile). DALI variants support over-the-bus updates for future-proof firmware upgrades. In addition, a Modular Dimming / Camera-Ready mode is available, ideal for production and streaming environments.

Standards-Compliant Lighting Design and Visual Comfort

With UGR < 19, the K-Horizon meets the highest requirements for glare-free lighting at screen workstations. The four available light distributions (direct microprismatic, direct opal, indirect and combined) enable optimum adaptation to room geometry and the intended use. Standard tolerances of ±15 % for photometric and electrical data ensure reliable planning.

The K-Horizon is available in many variants: two power levels (41 W / 71 W), two control options (ZigBee 3.0 or DALI DT8), two light distributions (MP-DI, OP-DI, direct/indirect) and two surface colors (natural anodized RAL 9003, black RAL 9005). Luminous flux varies between 4010 lm and 7630 lm depending on the configuration. In addition, various options are available.

CE conformity and RoHS conformity. Protection class I with IP 20 protection rating. Operating voltage 230 VAC / 50-60 Hz. Permitted operating temperature 10 °C to 35 °C. Photometric and electrical data are subject to a tolerance of ±15 %. Light source is non-replaceable. Maximum number of luminaires per circuit breaker: 10 units (type B16) or 17 units (type C16). Installation may only be carried out by trained qualified personnel with the power switched off. Applicable installation and accident prevention regulations must be observed.
