The large number of technical data and the resulting large selection of LED drivers often leads to a desperate and sometimes unsuccessful search. This post should help you find the right driver.

We differentiate between constant voltage sources = LED drivers and constant voltage sources = LED transformers (e.g. with 12V or 24V voltage output for e.g. LED strips.

What parameters are required to select an LED constant current driver?

• LED drivers "drive" a constant current through one or more LEDs connected in series. That is why the name "constant current source" is often used. Most important parameter: For which LED current is / are the LED (s) designed or should the LED module be operated.
  Examples are: 350mA, 700mA or even for high-performance LED modules up to 1A (mostly for the COB modules)
• What power should the driver be designed for? This is also calculated from the number of LEDs and their individual outputs. The respective power supply (LED driver) must be able to provide the desired power for this LED current.
• Should the LED driver be dimmable?
  There are various technologies: phase dimming / triac; 1-10V; DALI; Touch dimming or even radio (e.g. Casambi)
• Final housing type and size? Suitability for moisture (IP protection), as well as for installation in a luminaire housing or "free-flying" for e.g. Ceiling installation with strain relief.
• Of course, parameters such as operating temperature and operating voltage range.

Find the right driver quickly!

The quickest way to find the driver you want is via the filter functions of the shop.
Simply select the "LED driver" category and use the filter to select the current, desired power and dimming method. We are constantly working on refining the filters. It is helpful to choose several alternatives for the services.
