PI-LED Technology – Light Like the Sun

The award-winning PI-LED technology is based on three individually controlled channels with optimum coordination of colour temperature and intensity. This enables high-quality daylight-like lighting – from dawn (1,800 K) to evening sky (16,000 K) along the Planckian locus. The broad spectrum with CRI > 90 provides consistently high energy efficiency across the entire colour temperature range, with 100% calibration for the lowest possible colour tolerances.

Melanopic Efficacy for the Circadian Rhythm

The documented melanopic efficacy factor alpha(smel) describes the biological effect of light on the human body. Higher alpha(smel) values during the day minimise melatonin secretion, contributing to better concentration and increased vitality. Lower values in the evening promote natural melatonin secretion for stable sleep. Lighting design in accordance with DIN SPEC 5031-100 is therefore possible in compliance with the standard.

Modular Dimming and Camera Ready

The recessed luminaire features flicker-free control through Modular Dimming – perfect for video conferences, film production and screen-based work. The PWM dimming process is optimised to eliminate visible flicker effects even when using high-frequency cameras and sensors. This makes the K-Horizon an ideal solution for TV studios and professional streaming applications.

Intelligent Lighting Control: ZigBee 3.0 and DALI DT8

The recessed luminaire is supplied either with ZigBee 3.0 or DALI DT8 registration. DALI variants include Over-The-Bus updates for wireless firmware updates without installation effort. Casambi control is optionally available on request. The interfaces enable seamless integration into existing smart lighting systems and building automation.

Energy Efficiency and Long Service Life

With a rated power of 32 W, the K-Horizon provides a luminous flux of 3,150 lm or 3,500 lm. The L80/B10 service life of 50,000 hours corresponds to approximately 5–10 years of continuous operation and significantly reduces maintenance intervals and total operating costs. Energy efficiency class F is typical for LED systems with extended functionalities such as circadian lighting control.

Variants & Options

Available variants: different combinations of luminous flux (3,150 lm MP-DI or 3,500 lm OP-DI), control (ZigBee or DALI DT8) and surface finish (natural anodised, black RAL 9005). Various lengths are also available. Illuminated corner elements (603 mm) and continuous-row lighting applications are available on request. Casambi control is optionally available.

Safety Instructions, Certificates & Warranty

Protection class I, IP20, operating voltage 230 VAC / 50–60 Hz. CE and RoHS compliant. Installation only by trained specialist personnel and with the power supply disconnected. Light source is not replaceable. Clean only with a soft, damp cloth – do not use solvents. Dispose of as electronic waste at the end of its service life. Permissible operating temperature 10 °C – 35 °C. Photometric and electrical tolerances ±15 %.
