Product Benefits in Detail

Wireless DALI integration via Bluetooth 5

The dimmer connects to the DALI bus system via the separate wDALI-2 BT5 Bridge. The bridge receives DALI commands and forwards them wirelessly to up to 10 paired dimmers. The radio technology is based on Bluetooth 5 with encrypted communication – typical indoor range is 8–12 m, in open field up to 150 m.

PWM control for constant current LEDs

The device operates as an LED dimmer with constant current pulse-width modulation (PWM). The maximum output current of 350 mA can be modulated by PWM signals between 0.1 % and 100 %. The switchable PWM frequency (122 Hz to 1 kHz) enables optimal adaptation to various LED modules and reduces visible flicker or interference with camera sensors.

Efficient power supply and thermal design

The input voltage is flexibly accepted between 12 V and 48 V DC, providing broad compatibility with various power supply systems. Maximum output power is 15.75 W at 45 V. Standby losses are only 180 mW @ 12 V. The compact housing (length 59 mm) enables recessed installation and reaches approximately 75 °C during proper operation and ventilation – thus a service life exceeding 100,000 h is realistic.

Configuration and commissioning

After connection to the power supply, the dimmer is paired via the wDALI-2 Bridge. Configuration of all parameters – scene values, groups, DALI addresses, PWM frequency and behavior after power loss – is performed centrally via DALI Cockpit software on the PC. The device is automatically recognized in the device overview and can be visually located via the IDENTIFY command.

Safety and standards compliance

The dimmer complies with standards EN 61347-2-13 (LED power supplies), EN 61547 (electromagnetic compatibility), EN 55015 (high-frequency interference) and EN 62384 (DC power supplies). Insulation category II, pollution degree 2, protection class IP20. The housing made of polycarbonate (class V0) and polyamide (class V0) meets fire protection requirements. Installation by qualified personnel and compliance with national electrical installation regulations are required.

Variants & Options

Available in version 89453844-BT-350 with 350 mA output current. The associated wDALI-2 BT5 Bridge (article number 89453348 or 89453348-PS with integrated 20 W power supply) is purchased separately and can control up to 10 dimmers simultaneously.
