1-channel Bluetooth dimmer for constant-voltage LED modules in flush-mounted box or luminaire. Wireless control via wDALI-2 Bridge, without DALI cable to the dimmer.

Key Features

• Bluetooth 5 radio technology, radio range 8-12 m (depending on building structure), up to 150 m in open field – The dimmer requires no DALI cable to the installation location; control is provided via the wDALI-2 Bridge on the DALI bus.
• Dimming range 0.1 % - 100 %, LED calibration with MIN level 0.1 %, intermediate value 33 %, MAX level 100 % – Brightness can be reduced down to 0.1 %, and calibration aligns multiple luminaires to the same brightness curve.
• Switchable PWM frequency 122 Hz / 250 Hz / 500 Hz / 1 kHz – For camera recordings or high refresh rates, the appropriate PWM frequency can be selected to avoid flicker.
• Supply voltage 12 V to 28 V DC (SELV), input current max. 4 A, no-load power ~120 mW at 12 V – The dimmer operates with standard low-voltage power supplies and consumes only minimal energy in standby.
• Expected service life >100,000 h at T < Tc (max. rated temperature Tc 75 °C) – If the rated temperature at the housing is maintained, a long operating life without replacement of the dimmer can be expected.
• Behavior after mains recovery configurable via DALI: 0 % - 100 % or last value – After a power failure, the luminaire switches to the desired start state, for example a fixed brightness value.
• Spring-cage terminals (Push-In Cage Clamp), wire range 0.2-1.5 mm² (AWG 24-16), with wire end ferrules 0.25-1 mm², stripping length 8.5-9.5 mm – Conductors are inserted without tools, and the terminal is released by pressing the release lever.

Building installation in flush-mounted boxes

The dimmer is mounted behind a switch position or in the ceiling area inside the flush-mounted box and supplies constant-voltage LED modules connected to it.

Luminaire integration

The dimmer is installed directly in a luminaire with constant-voltage LED modules, so that no separate control cable needs to be routed to the luminaire.

Extension of existing DALI systems

Via the wDALI-2 Bridge, LED loads are integrated into the control system on the existing DALI bus without wiring to the load.

Coupling via wDALI-2 Bridge

After connection, the dimmer is coupled with a wDALI-2 Bridge that is connected to the DALI bus. One bridge connects up to 10 devices; for this, the BT long range function must be deactivated for coupling. The bridge assigns the DALI address, so that the device subsequently appears in the device overview.

Configuration via DALI-Cockpit

Scene values, groups and device-specific parameters are set in the PC software DALI-Cockpit. Access is provided via a DALI interface device, for example DALI USB, or via the wDALI-2 BT Bridge. The Identify function helps locate the device after addressing.

Power supply and fusing

The device is designed for an input current of 4 A and must be externally fused in such a way that this current is not permanently exceeded, including in the event of a fault or short circuit. If two dimmers are supplied by a common power supply, visible light fluctuations may occur during dimming operation, depending on the regulation quality of the power supply. Cable lengths between power supply, dimmer and LED strings should be kept as short as possible.

Typical Application Scenarios

In an office building, ceiling luminaires with constant-voltage LED modules are dimmed via a bridge on the DALI bus, without routing new control cables to each luminaire. In a retail row, each dimmer is integrated into the luminaire and switched together with other luminaires of a group via the Bridge.

Safety Information, Certificates & Warranty

Protection class II when installed as intended. The supply terminals V+ and V- must be connected to an SELV DC power supply. When installed in protection class II equipment, proper strain relief must be ensured. Installation may only be carried out in a de-energized state by qualified personnel, and national regulations for the installation of electrical systems must be observed. Applicable standards: EN 61547, EN 55015 / IEC CISPR15, EN 61347-2-13, EN 61357-1, EN 62384. Operating temperature -20 °C to +60 °C, storage and transport temperature -20 °C to +75 °C, relative humidity 15 % to 90 %, non-condensing.
