Operating Modes and Configuration Flexibility

The device supports three specialized operating modes: In DT6 mode, two separate DALI addresses control the channels independently – ideal for two-color applications. Balance&Dim provides one address for overall brightness and one for channel distribution (e.g., white tone mixing). Dim2Warm enables simultaneous dimming and continuous color temperature adjustment from warm to cool via a single DALI address. Selection is made via DALI-Cockpit software through the wDALI-2 Bridge.

Power Supply and Efficiency

The dimmer accepts a wide input voltage range from 12 V to 48 V DC according to SELV standard, with optimal output power when input voltage is 3–10 V above LED voltage. At 350 mA output current, maximum connected load is 4.2 W @12V or 16.8 W @48V. With standby losses of only approx. 180 mW @12V, the device is particularly suitable for decentralized system applications with continuous power supply.

Wireless Connection and Range

Communication takes place via Bluetooth 5 Long Range with state-of-the-art encryption. Indoor range is typically 8–12 m, with up to 150 m achievable in open field. Pairing is done with the wDALI-2 BT5 Bridge, with up to 10 dimmer modules per bridge. During installation, attention should be paid to metal enclosures, moisture, and interference sources; alternative positioning improves performance in case of reception problems.

Installation and Mounting

The device is designed for installation in flush-mounted boxes or direct luminaire integration. Wiring is performed by qualified personnel with power disconnected using spring-force terminals (Push-In-Cage-Clamp) for conductor cross-sections 0.2–1.5 mm² (0.25–1 mm² with ferrules). Strip length: 8.5–9.5 mm. For protection class II devices, proper strain relief is required. National electrical installation regulations must be observed.
